Summary

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience!

    • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
    • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Position Summary (This position will consist of 36 hours per week but can consider 24 hours per week.)

The Clinical Nurse Educator contributes to the overall strategic plan for nursing focusing on both clinical practice and professional education and development. Through the inter woven practice elements of leader, educator, facilitator, change agent and clinical expert, the Clinical Nurse Educator will promote the provision of quality care, patient safety, evidence-based practice, and professional progression in nursing. The Clinical Nurse educator is responsible for educational demands and services associated with clinical staff needs, and will routinely provide direct patient care to maintain clinical expertise.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    1. Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or if the candidate holds an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, it is a requirement to enroll in and complete a BSN Degree Program within 2 years of assuming this position.  Master’s degree preferred.
    2. License/Certifications: Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing. Professional certification in practice specialty preferred. Current BLS and ACLS.
    3. Experience: Demonstrated clinical expertise in direct patient care as normally acquired through a minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience and meets all the care delivery expectations of the expert clinical nurse within their clinical setting. Experience in classroom instruction and/or clinical teaching associated with specialty specific settings is preferred.
    4. High level of interpersonal and leadership skills required.
    5. Knowledge of educational development and design preferred, in order to assist with the planning, development, and implementation of educational offerings for nurses and other health care professionals from a variety of practice settings.
