Job Description

Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The local Human Resources (HR) Director partners closely with Senior Leadership team(s) within the MaineHealth's local hospitals or operating entities and may also lead project initiatives of strategic importance at a system level. The HR Director is responsible for the development of a high-quality, comprehensive people agenda for NorDx as well as several other areas of corporate services.

      NorDx is a not-for-profit clinical laboratory based in Scarborough, Maine. Established in 1976 as the first licensed independent laboratory in Maine, NorDx has grown to provide comprehensive, dependable, quality laboratory services to hospitals, physicians, long-term care providers, other laboratories and health care organizations throughout Northern New England.

      The HR Director will direct HR activity in the assigned business entities to align with MaineHealth's vision and strategic business plan and may provide direction for retention strategies, talent management and talent acquisition, engagement, change management, and organization design and culture.

  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
    • License/Certification: Preferred certification in:
      • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
      • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
    • Experience: Minimum of five years HR or related experience required.
    • Effectively envision, develop, and implement strategies to address competitive, complex business issues.
    • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including workforce planning, care team relations, recruiting, talent management, compensation practices, organizational development, learning, union avoidance, diversity, performance management, federal and state employment laws.
    • Strong leadership skills and experience influencing at senior levels in an organization.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong negotiation and facilitation skills to effectively deal with conflicts and affect change.
    • Experience working with an array of HR technology and computer programs including Lawson, Kronos, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
