Your Role:

The Creative Learning Center has a great group of fun, friendly teachers who love what we do and we are looking for one more person to join our team! The Assistant Teacher helps to provide high quality care and comprehensive early education for young children. We focus on meeting children's needs through relationship building, exploration and discovery. Assistant Teachers work with children of all ages, birth to five, and we are specifically looking for someone right now with a special heart for caring for infants and young toddlers.

In addition to great pay and benefits, childcare staff are currently eligible for a $200 monthly stipend.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

    1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and/or college classes preferred.
    2. License/Certifications: Current CPR and first aid certification (or ability to become certified upon hire); Must present original certification of approved DHHS fingerprinting background check
    3. Experience: Teaching/caregiving in-group childcare/preschool setting preferred; Experience with the Creative Curriculum and NAEYC Accreditation preferred.
    4. Must be at least 18 years of age
    5. Demonstrated ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
    6. Must be willing to increase educational credentials as standards in the field advance (as required by state licensing, NAEYC accreditation, etc.)
    7. Ability, desire and sincere commitment to work with young children in a high-quality, developmentally appropriate program
    8. Basic knowledge of children and child development
    9. Demonstrated ability to effectively maintain a classroom independently and/or with co-teacher
    10. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
