For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Medical Assistants and CTA's:

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time) - MA
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time) - MA
  • Up to $2,500 sign on bonus for Clinical Team Assistants

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Our cardiology office is looking for a Medical Assistant seeking an opportunity to work in a large dynamic and fast-paced practice. We work closely with our physicians and advanced practice providers to provide safe and compassionate care. Within cardiology, we offer the ability to participate in a care team model as well as specialized clinics. The role is primarily clinical and involves rooming patients, telephone intake, and refills. Our team members are trained to perform ECG's, BLS is required and training is offered as needed.

Position Summary - Medical Assistant

Assist providers in the care and treatment of patients, promotes a smooth flow of patients through the office and helps to create a calm, supportive atmosphere. Performs tasks as required, paying attention to detail and accuracy, conducts all interactions with patients and personnel in a courteous, respectful manner while maintaining confidentiality. The incumbent is required to conduct all job responsibilities consistent with policies, procedures, and in compliance with all applicable laws or mandates relating to patient care and activities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) - Medical Assistant

    1. License/Certifications: Current BLS required.
    2. Education: Must meet one of the following requirements:
      • Graduated from two year accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting; OR
      • Certification with the AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistant) or registration with the AMT (American Medical Technology); OR certification with the NHA (National Healthcare Association).
    3. Experience: Minimum one year's experience working as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, preferred.
    4. Knowledge of healthcare field and medical office protocols/procedures
    5. Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately with ability to maintain confidentiality.
    6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff with the ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
    7. Ability to organize and accomplish multiple tasks and to have the flexibility to meet changing demands on a daily basis.
    8. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image even under stressful situations
    9. Proficient computer skills
    10. Pediatric practice staff will be required to participate in the weekend clinic rotation.
    11. Ability to travel to other offices as needed.

Position Summary - Clinical Team Assistant

This position is responsible for performing daily patient service functions to support the clinical team in the delivery of patient care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) - Clinical Team Assistant

    1. Education: Graduate of an accredited vocational program, community college or university in the field of health sciences. Program curriculum must include patient facing experience.
    2. License/Certifications: Current BLS required or must be obtained within 3 months from start of employment.
    3. Experience: N/A
    4. Ability to excel in a team-based care environment.
    5. Working knowledge of continuous process improvement.
    6. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.
    7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff.
    8. Ability to organize and accomplish multiple tasks and to have the flexibility to meet changing demands on a daily basis.
    9. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image even under stressful situations
    10. Analytical ability required to gather and interpret information necessary to resolve problems.
    11. Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
    12. Proficient computer skills
    13. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
