For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $20,000 sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience!

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

The Clinical Educator will be dedicated to the ongoing provision of Maine Medical Center's CNA Apprenticeship Program and its affiliation with Portland Adult Education. The position is designed to provide various levels of support in the preparation, delivery, and evaluation of the current model. Engaging as an instructor in classroom and clinical settings and serving as a resource for students and staff are the primary components of the role under the guidance of the Program Coordinator.

This is a part-time, 24-hour Monday-Friday (primarily days) position.

Position Summary

  • The Clinical Staff Educator position assists in the ongoing provision of Maine Medical Center's CNA Apprenticeship Program and its affiliation with Portland Adult Education. This role is linked closely with the Professional Development Specialist who coordinates, oversees and serves as the principal faculty for the program. The position is designed to provide various levels of support in the preparation, delivery, and evaluation of the current model. Engaging as an instructor in classroom and clinical settings and serving as a resource for students and staff are the primary components of the role under the guidance of the Program Coordinator.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Registered Nurse. BSN required.
  • License/Certifications: Active, unencumbered, State of Maine Nursing License. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification as a Provider Certification as an AHA BLS instructor is a plus.
  • Experience: Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience in direct and team-based care in acute care inpatient settings as normally acquired through a minimum of five years of recent nursing practice. Prior experience as an educator in clinical and classroom settings is required.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to appreciate complex systems interpret current literature and support the translation of evidence into practice.
  • Effective project/activity management and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal, non-verbal, and written.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of learners and the health care team.
  • Demonstrates real-time flexiblity and the capacity to multitask and address priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills.
