Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Resident Engineer to join us in Brunswick, ME. Candidates should have experience with contractors for highway, traffic signal and pavement installation for MaineDOT or locally-administered projects, and experience working for clients like MaineDOT/Municipal clients. Technical knowledge of general and highway construction is required.


Responsibilities

  • Able to lead other inspectors or act as solo inspector for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.
  • Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection including pay estimates, change orders, daily work reports, quantity checking, meeting minutes, material certifications, etc.
  • Ensures work is completed in accordance with MaineDOT specifications.
  • Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisive decisions.
  • Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
  • Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.
  • Leading other construction inspectors; providing coaching, mentoring, and direction as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of transportation construction experience.
  • Valid US Driver's License required.
  • Leadership skills & decisive decision making.
  • Comfortable with using computers and adapting to software.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors on a project site for extended period of time.
  • Strong Mathematics skills.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
