Job Description

Summary

For a limited time Franklin Memorial Hospital is offering up to $5,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Physical Therapist Assistants!

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Physical Therapist Assistant position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
  • Position Summary
    • The Physical Therapist Assistant administers physical therapy treatments to patients, working under direction of and as assistant to Physical Therapist. This position is for inpatient acute care and swing bed coverage.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
    • License/Certifications: Must be licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Current. BCLS required.
    • Experience: Prior experience working in a hospital, nursing home or outpatient Physical Therapy Department is preferred.
    • Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation and terminology requirements and federal/state laws related to release of health care information
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other members of the healthcare team
    • Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination
    • Ability to respond the changing workload based on patient census and to direct, supervise and evaluate care in order to individualize therapy care provided to patients
    • Ability to maintain professional manner even under stressful situations
    • Proficient computer skills
