  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Social Worker position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Maine state licensure to practice as a LCSW, LCPC, LMFT is required

Position Summary

An exciting opportunity for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) with interest, training and/or experience integrating behavioral health services medical settings. This is a 40 hour position, with benefits, located on the Franklin Community Health Network Campus in the Women's Health practice. The practice is a well-established specialty group offering comprehensive care to women through all stages of life.

The clinician's role would include providing screening, assessments, and focused treatment to the patients. Treatment structure includes individual, family, and group work. Linking patients to additional services and supports, providing consultation to providers, and participating in population health activities that targets the health and wellbeing of specific groups of people are other aspects of the role. Persons interested in this position must have experience working with both adults and teens. Knowledge of and interest in treating substance use disorders is preferred. Individual supervision, group supervision, psychiatry consultation, and trainings are added benefits of this position.

In addition to the clinical treatment, the clinician helps connect patients with additional resource, provides consultations and training to providers, and has the opportunity to participate in population health activities that targets the health and wellbeing of specific groups of people.

This position will be a generalist Master's Level mental health Clinician with interest, training and/or experience integrating mental health services into the primary care setting. This position will be placed in primary care practices, work with adults, families and children; and provide assessment, screening, and referral services. Additionally, brief individual therapy, prevention and educational services will be provided and include collaborative work with primary care physicians and their office staff, psychiatrists and other behavioral health providers. Additionally, there is potential opportunity for student loan forgiveness through the National Health Service Corps (NHSC).

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: See "License/Certifications"
  2. License/Certifications: Licensure by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (preferred), or licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (by exception). Must have a valid Driver's license and reliable transportation.
  3. Experience: 2+ years of work experience in a health or mental health setting preferred, in order to have proficiency in psychosocial assessment and treatment. Must have considerable knowledge of community resources and agencies and how to use them in resolving complex problems related to health, illness and disability.
  4. Knowledge of social work theories, therapies and techniques, as used in individual, family and group treatment, as well as principles of social welfare. Ability to teach basic social work principles and applications to the medical setting.
