We are presently seeking a per diem Activity Aide to join our team!

  • Position Summary This position is per diem with variable hours.
    • The Activity Aide for the Mid Coast Senior Health Center supports the Manager of Social Events & Volunteers as well as Social Events Coordinators in providing meaningful, purposeful and fun activities for residents. Recognizing that every interaction with a resident is an activity, the Activity Aide helps to plan and deliver a daily calendar of activities that incorporates individual interests and addresses the physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual needs of each resident. The Activity Aide will spend 70% of his/her time interacting with residents and 30% working on documentation, planning and organizing.
    • Communicates an Attitude of Respect and Excellence (C.A.R.E.), by following the C.A.R.E. standards at all times.
    • Embodies the Culture of Safety. Adheres to all patient and staff safety policies and procedures. Reports all unsafe or potentially unsafe patient or staff conditions immediately.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Preferred to have degree or coursework completed in the areas of Recreational Therapy, Occupational Thearpy, Exercise Physiology, Sociology, Education, Social Work or other related Health Care field.
    • License/Certifications: N/A
    • Experience: Previous experience working in a clinical setting with the elderly, as a CRMA, CNA or therapy is preferred. Experience working with people with dementia in a residential setting preferred.
    • Demonstrated understanding of stages of dementia
    • Must enjoy working with older adults
    • Flexibility, creativity, patience
