Position Summary
The SCU RN is responsible for complex assessment, high intensity therapies and interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance. Effective communications skills are essential. The critical care nurse relies on a specialized body of knowledge, skills and experience to provide safe patient and family centered-care and create environments that are healing, humane, and caring. The critical care nurse is a patient advocate. The SCU patient population includes pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
The Registered Nurse provides high quality patient and family centered care; in accordance with the scope of practice defined the Maine State Board of Nursing. Through collaboration, delegation and communication with members of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers care to a diverse population without discrimination in assigned areas.
