Summary

The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital (BBCH) at Maine Medical Center is currently seeking a Pediatric Critical Care physician to join our 8-member faculty group. The ideal candidate would have experience working in both PICU and CICU environments and be board certified in pediatric intensive care with cardiology training encouraged. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a mixed PICU/cardiac environment and has 8 beds with 400+ admissions per year including a growing population of post-operative cardiac surgical patients including neonates as well as an ECMO program. In addition to clinical care, interest or participation in research, patient safety and quality initiatives is encouraged and education of residents is a core part of our mission. Administrative and leadership opportunities exist within the Departments of Pediatrics and Critical Care for qualified individuals.

The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, a 96-bed hospital within Maine Medical Center, is the tertiary medical center for children serving the state of Maine and southern/eastern New Hampshire. The Children's Hospital medical staff represents all of the major pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties including trauma care, surgery for congenital heart disease and renal transplantation. The critical care division also supports and supervises a 24/7 pediatric transport team.

Maine Medical Center (MMC) has 700 licensed beds and is the state's leading tertiary care hospital and Level One Trauma Center, with a full complement of Residencies and Fellowships and an integral part of Tufts University Medical School. Academic rank at Tufts University will be granted commensurate with experience.
