Job Description

Summary

  • MaineHealth Pediatrics is recruiting for a Neuropsychologist to join their dynamic team in Kennebunk. The job encompasses performing neuropsychological assessments and evaluations, and specialized psychological interventions for children and adolescents with documented neuropsychological-related disorders and/or conditions affecting CNS functioning and development, including brain injury, medical disease, or developmental problems. The hire is expected to actively participate in the educational mission of the hospital, which may include supervision, teaching, and consultation with psychology trainees, pediatric residents, medical students, and other trainees.

    Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Advanced skills in neuropsychology evaluation, treatment, and consultation acquired through the completion of a doctoral program accredited by the American Psychological Association, or equivalent, as recognized by the Maine Board of Examiners of Psychologists, and all required predoctoral, internship, and postdoctoral training.
  • License/Certifications: Licensed or license eligible as a Psychologist by the Maine Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Board certification or eligibility for certification in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Clinical Neurology/American Board Professional Psychology.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical experience providing neuropsychological services in a medical/clinical setting. The equivalent of two (full-time) years of experience and specialized training, at least one of which is at the post-doctoral level, in the study and practice of clinical neuropsychology and related neurosciences. These two years include supervision by a clinical neuropsychologist.
  • Necessary personal, professional, and interpersonal skills required to conduct neuropsychological evaluations and interventions with patients and their families as well as to work effectively as a member of the health care team.
