Job Description

Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The MRI Technologist is a Radiologic Technologist who has received advanced training and has been certified by the ARRT or ARMRIT to utilize magnetic resonance imaging scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis and/or treatment. May float to all locations that MRI services are provided for at SMHC.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Completion of a certificate or degree course of study specifically in Radiologic Technology preferred.
    • License/Certifications: Will be eligible to take the ARRT/ARMRIT within 15 months of hire. BLS required.
    • Experience: A minimum of 2 years' previous experience desired.
    • Techs must be able to closely follow a physician's instructions, prepare and operate MRI equipment, position patients correctly and effectively record the requested diagnostic images.
    • Good written and verbal communication as well as sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
    • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
    • Must be able to flex based on department volume/demand.
