Summary

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Social Worker position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker - Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC) is required

Position Summary

Maine Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a Clinician (LCSW) to join our Outpatient Clinic team at the Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders!

The Glickman Lauder Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders serves individuals and their families. Our specially trained providers have expertise in the emotional and behavioral needs of people with autism and other developmental disorders. We use evidence-based practices through a team-based approach to meet each patient's unique needs. Our collaborative team uses bi-weekly case review meetings to interact with one another and offer support. The center is open Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM. This role will serve patients of all ages with a primary focus with our pediatric population.

Responsibilities of the Clinician role include:

  • Involved in the evaluation and treatment of patients with autism and other developmental disorders and their families by providing individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team which includes psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, behavior analysts, social workers, medical assistant, behavior technician and developmental behavioral pediatricians.
  • Conduct and document a psychosocial assessment of each patient to clarify problems, strengths and goals
  • This work is performed under general supervision in accordance with institutional and social work policies.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Master's degree in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
  2. License/Certifications: Licensure by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred. Licensure by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker - Clinical Conditional considered.
  3. Experience: Experience working with individuals with developmental disorders, including individuals with autism and intellectual disability. 2+ years of work experience in a mental health setting.
  4. Knowledge of social work theories, therapies and techniques, as used in individual, family and group treatment, as well principles of social welfare, as applied to individuals with developmental disorders
  5. Proficiency in psychosocial assessment and treatment
  6. Considerable knowledge of community resources and agencies and how to use them in resolving complex problems related to health, illness and disability
  7. Facility with CBT, TF-CBT and other evidence-based modalities preferred
  8. Facility with social skills teaching and behavior support strategies preferred
  9. Must display strong interpersonal, planning, and analytical skills, professionalism, and maturity
  10. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  11. Ability to adapt readily to change, work flexibly within a team, and work within a fast-paced environment.
  12. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required
