Job Description
The IT Operations Manager works directly with our Director of Configuration Services to ensure the timely delivery of IT equipment for Blue Mantis employees and clients. The role works collaboratively across the organization to review needs and specifications to ensure timely shipment of IT equipment. This individual works collaboratively with leaders from all departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support innovative, cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization's Sales, Services, Marketing and Back Office Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee a team of resources to ensure all laptops, peripherals, & IT assets are shipped in a timely manner.
  • Oversee laptop, desktop, and server assembly and configurations.
  • Oversee innovative & effective use of the company's technology investments & industry partnerships.
  • Supervise activities of configuration technicians, and other contractors performing information technology work
  • Oversee switch and disk array initial configurations.
  • Investigate, analyze and trouble shoot emergencies and establish proactive plans to resolve and prevent disruption that would prevent the team from performing its day-to-day duties.
  • Promote a productive/analytical approach within to identify issues within the team that identifies potential issues before they become critical business impacting events.
  • Oversee the installation of operating systems, warranty repair, firmware and IOS upgrades and installation of Managed Services tools for contracted and non-contracted customers. Assist device preparation, specifically imaging and custom configuration of laptops and desktops for onsite installation using various imaging tools.
  • Oversee warehouse management tasks including shipping, receiving, inventory management and delivery of finished devices.
  • Ability to work onsite in a warehouse environment 5 days a week.
  • Ability to travel to NH/MA/FL/RI Blue Mantis offices & client sites as needed.
  • Act as contact escalation point for Blue Mantis Configuration Techs.
  • Handles maintenance, availability, and performance of key Technologies/Systems.
  • Manage all aspects of a warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory management, cycle counts.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • 10 + years demonstrated success leading IT technical support teams or IT Help Desk Engineers
  • 5 + years of progressive responsibility in Information Technology positions.
  • 5+ years warehouse management experience & IT Documentation.
  • Experience with HAM (Hardware Asset Management Process)
  • Experience with overseeing IT staff that configure 30-40 laptops/PC's per day.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Microsoft Azure, & Intune
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work-related experience
  • Ability to multitask focus on urgency/execution.
  • Ability and desire to learn new competencies.
  • Work with internal and external resources to maintain customer agreed Service Level Agreements
  • Excellent verbal, written presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to serve, lead, partner and collaborate with others both internally and externally on complex, time sensitive initiatives and projects.
  • Experience with hardware, operating systems, and networking knowledge LAN/WAN
  • Ability to troubleshoot and communicate issues to Employees & Customers.
  • Experience with one of the following PC Imaging software:
  • MDT Server, SCCM, Smartdeploy or Acronis or Experience with PXE Booting
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, SCCM, DNS, Entra.
  • A+, Network+ Certification or higher preferred
  • Network cabling and termination knowledge.
  • Windows 10 and Windows 11 fluency
  • Comfortable with ITSM systems usage, inventory control systems, and logistics software.
  • Ability and willingness to become hands on to assist on the benches when work scales.
