Job Description

Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of Center's facilities including administrative offices, classrooms, restrooms, cafeteria, and wellness area.

  • As assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, cleans windows, cleans floors, and empties trash from assigned areas.
  • Completes work orders as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Assists in pest control as required.
  • May complete purchase order ensuring receipt is obtained.
  • Clears driveways and sidewalks of snow and uses appropriate materials to safeguard against slipping on ice.
  • Plans, assigns, monitors, reviews, and supervises the work of custodians assigned to the site.
  • Instructs, advises, and demonstrates work methods, practices, and procedures for completing job assignments and to assist in the training of custodians.
  • Advises custodial staff on center policies and procedures related to the job assignments and enforces safety rules and regulations.
  • Conducts spot inspections of assigned task to ensure compliance and expectations are being met.
  • Maintains appropriate records and prepares reports as required.
  • Ensures adequate supplies are available for operational needs.
  • Performs minor or routine maintenance on custodial equipment.
  • Trains custodial staff in all manners of cleaning, safety, and custodial equipment use at the site.
  • Ensures the appearance of the center's grounds are within standards based on guidelines of the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor and Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure all chemicals used on center is shared with the Center Safety Officer ensuring SDS sheets are updated.
  • May be responsible for housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
  • Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
  • Attends all required staff training opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of custodial experience required.
  • Experience working with youth.
  • A valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
