About the Team & Role

It's a really exciting time to be part of the WEX Digital Team - we're growing our strategy, product, and portfolio teams in order to build the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital platforms of the future. You'll be in the thick of the action, helping advance our commercial, product, and tech AI strategy to efficiently drive growth and deliver products that delight our consumers. We are looking for an AI enthusiast who is excited by the challenge of transforming our organization. This role will spearhead strategy definition and resulting coordination of internal and external AI communications, change management, and general operations across our core, matrixed AI team. You will play a pivotal role leading and nurturing our AI Community of Practice, AI Change Champions, and coordinating with our AI subject matter experts and PMO to tell the story of our AI accomplishments, both internally and externally.

The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a passion for crafting compelling narratives that highlight our achievements, inspire our employees, and engage external audiences. Crucial to success is the ability to communicate effectively with and engage a range of stakeholders, from technical teams to commercial teams to senior leadership, helping facilitate knowledge sharing, fostering collaboration, and representing our accomplishments to diverse audiences.

We expect candidates to have an understanding of AI technologies and their practical applications, but recognize that the technologies are constantly evolving. Dynamic leadership and continuous learning is paramount and you should have a willingness to roll-up your sleeves and approach problems with a "can-do" attitude. Consider applying for this role if you do well in startup and/or growth environments, but want the scale/reach of a large, established public company.

As a core member of our cross-functional, matrixed AI-team, you will report to the newly created VP of AI Strategy & Implementation as part of the Digital organization. Your expertise and partnership across the organization will be crucial to delivering on our AI ambitions. Success in this role involves strong leadership and communication skills, exceptional organization and change management prowess, and a zeal for creating compelling stories.

  • Develop a storytelling strategy that aligns with the company's brand voice and strategic goals, including developing engaging stories, vignettes, and case studies that showcase WEX's AI achievements

  • Build and maintain a content calendar that aligns with internal, external communications teams as well as Marketing with key AI-relevant company milestones, product launches, and industry events

  • Help facilitate seamless communication and collaboration across the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and key stakeholders to foster a unified approach to AI by organizing and preparing content for internal meetings and strategic discussions to ensure all parties are informed and aligned with AI strategies.

  • Partner across core AI team to lead coordination and creation of quarterly AI board slides, ensuring all pieces fit together to highlight key initiatives and outcomes to support strategic discussions and decisions.

  • Develop enterprise-wise strategy to encourage collaboration and more effectively leverage our AI Community of Practice (CoP) and AI Change Champions for continuous learning across WEX, partnering with AI PMO, Global Talent Development (HR), and our AI Coach & Prompt Engineer, where applicable

  • Nurture our in-flight, robust AI Community of Practice ("CoP") to drive innovation and knowledge sharing. Own agenda for CoP and establish Change Champion forums to facilitate knowledge sharing on key topics

  • Partner with AI Tooling Strategy Lead (IT) and IT Communications specialist on communications strategy and plan for new tools
