Job Description

Summary

  • Position Summary
    • Under general supervision, operates hospital motor vehicle in order to complete a variety of pickup and delivery assignments. Maintains a log of mileage, destinations, pickup and delivery time. Ensures vehicle is maintained in a clean, safe and mechanically sound operating condition. Responsible for the petty cash purchase of items.
*** You must have a clean driving record and the ability to drive 14-26ft box truck
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: N/A
    • License/Certifications: Must possess current valid and acceptable class C standard State driver's license.
    • Experience: N/A
    • Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions in order to determine pickup/delivery locations, and write simple sentences and numbers in order to maintain noncomplex logs and records of pickup and delivery times, mileage logged into hospital vehicle, and so forth.
    • Approximately one to four weeks on-the-job training required to become familiar with various hospital locations, learn pickup/delivery schedules, and hospital policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
    • Ability to prioritize.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Ability to lift objects weighing up to seventy pounds.
    • Mental alertness is essential when operating hospital vehicle.
