Description & Requirements

We are seeking an Associate Financial Advisor in our Austin, TX or San Antonio, TX offices to assist a Lead Financial Advisor in servicing a substantial client base. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a successful advisory practice with excellent potential to expand the practice. The Associate Financial Advisor will help the Lead Financial Advisor with creating financial plans and managing client investments. The Associate Financial Advisor will also analyze client portfolios, assist with client recordkeeping, and engage in research and other tasks as requested by the Lead Financial Advisor. An ideal candidate is a person who is, or desires to be, a Certified Financial Planner and who has excellent technical, organizational, and people skills. The candidate should also have an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to increase the existing client base.

How you will contribute:

  • Maintaining knowledge of investment management, tax, estate planning, insurance, and other financial needs of clients
  • Meeting with prospective clients, gathering financial information, participating in the creation of financial plans, and monitoring outcomes
  • Assisting with the development of new business and building internal and external referral sources
  • Establishing trust and building strong relationships by understanding both the financial and emotional needs of clients
  • Maintaining an understanding of regulatory obligations applicable to registered investment advisors

We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:

  • Ability to manage tasks and schedule a calendar effectively
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and a desire to work with people
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to be persuasive and articulate in oral and written communication, small meetings, and large presentations
  • Familiarity with and ability to implement sound business practices
  • Highly professional demeanor and the ability to work closely with CPA referral sources

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Series 65 license, or desire to become licensed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • 3 years or more of financial advisory experience
  • CFP or similar designation or desire to obtain CFP or other designation
  • Experience in Junxure, iRebal, MoneyGuide Pro, or other financial services software is a plus
  • Ability to learn and use tools such as Client Relationship Management, Portfolio Rebalancing, and Financial Planning Software
  • Having a strong local network is preferred
