CONMED is looking for a talented Development Engineer who can help develop new products for Advanced Surgical's R&D team in Denver, CO. The engineer will have immediate opportunities to contribute to new product development with a focus on minimally invasive surgical technologies designed to deliver real benefits to surgeons, hospitals, and their patients. As a CONMED Development Engineer III, you will be working on a high-performing team, helping develop new products and transfer them to manufacturing.
Advanced Surgical products include:
Advanced insufflation systems
Advanced energy systems
Electrosurgical units (ESU's)
Laparoscopic surgical instruments
Responsibilities:
Driving designs from prototypes into manufacturable designs, transferred to manufacturing
Assist with all release activities required for the development of new products
Performing DFM activities, refining designs for manufacturing and assembly
Using CAD (SolidWorks) to refine existing or new component designs
Performing fits and clearance checks and tolerance stack-ups
Writing project documentation, including product requirements, and defining critical dimensions
Developing test fixtures, test methods, and validating test methods
Ensuring gantt charts include actions for your responsibilities
Participating in design reviews and providing a critical eye to designs, test, and/or manufacturing approaches
Visiting suppliers as required to help drive critical development actions
Required Qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering discipline (or highly related field)
5+ years of Engineering work experience
Experience in SolidWorks or 3D modeling software
Experience writing technical documents such as protocols and reports
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the development and release of new products
Experience in the medical device Industry or related regulated industry
Experience in a consumer goods industry
Experience with electronics disposables
Experience with high volume disposables
Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is $80,000-$130,000. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
