Job Description: McKesson is seeking a dynamic and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team in our distribution center (DC) located in Northwest Houston, Texas. The Houston McKesson Medical-Surgical DC has a footprint of 350,000 sq ft. Successful candidates will be well-rounded in electrical, mechanical and automation skills, troubleshooting, repair experience and knowledge of a broad range of complex industrial facility systems. Our new Maintenance Technician will be a safety-focused individual who enjoys being part of a team.Our technicians are supported with the best tools, training, and "Cushman" lift trucks!

Schedule:

  • During first 6 months of employment, our new Maintenance Technician will rotate through all shifts. Earliest shift start time will be 6am. Latest shift start time will be 12pm.

  • Permanent schedule will be Monday through Friday, 12pm until shift completion.

  • Flexibility with schedule is necessary due to our real-time commitments to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventative Maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair a wide variety of challenging electro-mechanical systems in a distribution center environment. Primarily automated MDR conveyors systems.

  • Provide electrical, mechanical, and automation support for all facility systems and equipment including but not limited to conveyors (IntelliQ), ASRS, spiral conveyors (Ambaflex) freezers, coolers, HVAC (Trane), air compressors (Ingersol-Rand ), generators (Kohler), box erectors (WexXar), auto box erectors (Seal Air I PACK), printers, strappers (Stra-Pac), wrappers, (Lantech), belt extenders (FMH), dock lifts, lift trucks (Crown), battery inter-changer (BHS), bailers, compactors, fire protection, electrical breakers, and other automated technologies.

  • Demonstrate skills in all phases of facility maintenance including electrical troubleshooting.

  • Self-starter in new equipment learning, training and ability to lead preventative maintenance efforts.

  • Communicate with and maintain effective relationships with service contractors and vendors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 1+ years of relatedexperience

Additional Skills:

  • 1 year of electrical, mechanical and automation troubleshooting of MDR/Spiral Conveyors systems, HVAC, freezer, refrigeration, strapper, wrapper and printer experience.

  • MDR Conveyor preventive maintenance and troubleshooting experience.

  • Experience troubleshooting PLC conveyor controls with relay logic microprocessor controls.

  • Knowledge of the NEC and light electrical construction experience is desired.

  • Proven ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical and automation schematics.

  • Experience with and ability to train others on LOTO and OSHA regulations.

  • Windows XP/Windows 7, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Maintenance Connect work order experience is preferred.

  • Proven ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with contractors who perform site work.

  • Proven ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during work hours or when on call.

  • Applicants must have flexibility with work hours and days, to include holidays and short notice call in.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with facilities, vendors, operations IT teams.

  • Associate degree, trade school certification, or verifiable training in a relevant technical field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Includes standing, sitting, walking, general and roof ladder, scissor lift, and fork truck use, to four story heights in a warehouse environment.

  • Must be able to carry and operate a laptop and handheld device.

  • Must be willing to work various hours in a 24/7 operational warehouse.

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$19.23 - $32.05
